Our fit.y chick concept involves setting 2 week incremental goals.
So our weight loss plan is to lose 1-2 pounds a week. This will allow us to accomplish our goals by mid November 2012. 4 months to lose 30 pounds.
We will be posting our Eating and Exercise plans as we go. Each plan will be tailored to achieve our goals for that 2 week increment. We think the best way to stay motivated is to set these regimens in segments, in order to re-evaluate if we are not getting the results we want.
We also will be entering running races and enrolling in fitness classes once we have achieved goals 1 and 2. We are so excited to achieve our goals and are looking forward to sharing our success with you :)
Goal 1_
after 2 weeks
(beg august: July 30, 2012) 3-4 pounds down. Feeling better. But knowing the rest of the month is going to be rough… it takes effort to stick to the plan. Working out everyday. Clothes are fitting a bit better but still tight…. probably not results we are STOKED over but results nonetheless.
ACTUAL RESULTS- We each lost approximately 6-8lbs (SO PROUD)!!! In just two weeks of strict dieting and consistent exercise! We promise we are not doing an extreme diet. A typical day consisted of cereal and a banana for breakfast, apple for snack, salad with light dressing for lunch, a cup of lightly salted popcorn for snack, and soup for dinner. Then we would run 30 minutes straight at 5.6 mph and do some basic arm exercises, lunges, and abs. Our clothes fit soo much better and some of our bigger clothes (sz 8 or 29/30) are getting a little baggy.

(mid august: August 13, 2012) 6-8 pounds down. Feeling good. Exercise and diet becoming a true life change. Working out 5x a week. By this point our clothes will fit us right and we will feel good in them. Very happy with results, feeling really proud of a WHOLE MONTH devoted to the fit.y lifestyle!
ACTUAL RESULTS- Fit.y Chick 1 lost 9 lbs and Fit.y Chick 2 lost 12 pounds!!!! (WE REACHED OUR 2nd GOAL!!) Being apart from one another was tough, but being at home allowed us to have better resources to exercise from our own gyms. We were both super great at working out. However, we did have a few drinks two to three times of the week and snacked a little more than we should have! We are still really proud of ourselves and cannot believe we are still on track!!
Goal 3_
after 1.5 months
(beg september: August 27, 2012) 10-12 pounds down. Feeling probably a bit discouraged because back at college everyone will be tempting us with late night eating and drinking…were saying helllz no… but it’s still tough. Maintaining our diet and workouts obvi. Clothes getting a little big. People definitely starting to notice the change and we are becoming proud of the actual results not just the number on the scale.
ACTUAL RESULTS- WE REACHED OUR 3rd GOAL!! Fit.y Chick 1 lost 10 lbs. and Fit.y Chick 2 lost 14.5 lbs. We are feeling a bit discouraged because we are at school amongst all the pressures to eat and indulge all of the time. BUT, we have been sticking to our exercise regime so we should be fine! We took more progress pictures and uploaded them to our computers this week. FIT.Y ALL THE WAY!
P.S. Pray for Fit.y Chick 1… broken toes are jank. NO running until next week :(
Goal 4_
after 2 months
(mid september: September 10, 2012) 14-16 pounds down. Feeling super legit. It’s tailgate season and we’re so pumped we’ve stuck with it this long. At this point, our clothes are definitely getting big, but we don’t need new ones just yet. We’re staying realistic people! 2 more months to go. Half wayy betches!!
ACTUAL RESULTS- Well, both of us have achieved Goal 4! We are both about 15 -16 pounds down from our Starting Weight. We have truly found our happy medium here at school. We have figured out our perfect balance and a way to maintain our fit.y lifestyle to the degree that is TRUE. What we mean by that is that on again off again dieting is not a true lifestyle change. After a few weeks of trial and error we have figured out our personal true fit.y lifestyle. This includes working out 5 or more times a week, eating fruits and veggies daily, allowing one “bad item” a week, minimized salty snacking, having dark chocolate on hand to help our sweet tooth, bagel thins for our bready carb:), diet protein shakes available for meal replacements, and eating natural protein as frequently as possible. We essentially want to eat relatively normally, just HEALTHIER options while in a very bad environment (our sorority house is a pizza haven at night and a goldfish/smartfood playground during the daytime).
We have said this before but we really mean it this time. We have gotten over the hurdle and do not see any problems in the future saying no to temptation. We somewhat half assed saying no for awhile and now we’re completely back on board and “over it”.
LESSON: Sometimes you need to half ass a diet while still working out and being relatively good to realize how not worth it it really is.
In other news we are pretty disappointed with the way our bodies look. Goal 3- Goal 4 doesnt look any different to us. We can’t wait until we actually start seeing a difference in our bodies again. Hopefully October 1st will be that day. Until next time…. xo, fit.y chicks
**Goal 5_ SADLY, WE NEVER REACHED THIS GOAL BY SET DATE. See adjusted timeline on Goal Setting Phase 2. If you don’t break the diet, keep losing the weight just continue on this plan!!**
after 2.5 months
(end september: September 24, 2012) 18-20 pounds down. Loving life. Definitely needing new jeans. Staying motived, purely on results. Love working out. Dieting comes easier and saying no to junk is like saying yes to those new jeans.
Goal 6_
after 3 months
(mid october: October 8, 2012) 22-24 pounds down. SO TOUGH because our results are good. We’re slim but not that toned. People are starting to kinda think we’re crazy for continuing to lose these last pounds in order to achieve our TONED and SLIM bodies. They don’t call the girls who are naturally super thin crazy do they? We’re staying motivated now thinking of all the work we have put in. The holidays are around the corner and we are sure that new clothes from Santa are in our future (yayzzz)!
